Since I've been away dA has changed yet again and I'm taking a while to get used to it all. So far it all looks good and seems to work pretty well. However =
Ptollemy just made me aware of one of dA's new applications which could be aiding copyright infringement of your deviations.
The new application is called SitBack and it allows you to view your gallery as a slideshow. In theory I think it's a great idea. However, dA will automatically provide this code allowing people to embed the slideshow anywhere, ie outside of DA. To those of you who already have to watermark, downscale and use TinEye to stop people ripping your images, I'm sure you'll realise that something like this is going to make life even harder for you.
There is no option at the minute to turn this feature off and it is not password protected so anyone can embed your images anywhere on the web.
I hate watermarking images but I think I'm going to have to start unless dA brings in the ability to disable SitBack and I'd advise you all the do the same.
For more information, to see SitBack in action or to let dA know what
you think of it, see
[link]Now... time to feature some more of my watchers - we're nearly at the end of the list!
